Groovy Greek Finale

After a day of themed activities, Years 5 and 6 rounded off their Autumn term topic by performing their Greek dances and a version of the Hercules story which they had written in rhyme! Greek refreshments went down very well and the children's costumes, although a little chilly, were the icing on the cake. Thank [...]

Marathon Mayhem

On Monday, Years 5 and 6 re-enacted the Battle of Marathon as part of their Ancient Greek history topic. Like true warriors we braved the weather although the drizzle did limit the effectiveness of our newspaper weaponry. We are pleased to announce that despite the Athenians being hugely outnumbered again, no serious injury was sustained beyond [...]

A Fond Farewell

Like every year, a bittersweet end as we say farewell to our Year 6 Leavers and send them onto their new Secondary Schools. Our Leavers service was a lovely opportunity to share with our Year 6 parents and present the children with a Bible and Leavers books. Our leavers returned the favour with the evening presentation [...]

Arnie Jenks and…Year 6!

Tim Bradley said he was very impressed by the high quality of the entries. All children received a bag [...]

Dunny Data

Year 6 embarked on a toilet roll challenge! We began by asking questions: How many sheets to a roll? What is the total area of a roll? Does each roll have the same number of sheets? What is the weight of one sheet of paper? Is there a relationship between the radius and total length [...]

Secrets of the Rainforest

Year 5 and 6 are currently exploring the unique habitat of tropical Rainforests. Looking at both vegetation and the wildlife, the children have located the areas of rainforest around the word and painted diagrams of the forest structure. Whilst we are enjoying our display and overgrown corridor, we are still disappointed that we cannot visit a Rainforest [...]

The Show Must Go On!

Year 5 and 6 had a great time visiting the Globe Theatre on Monday 9th February. The children experienced clothing in Shakespearean times and watched a sword fighting demonstration with a variety of weapons! The character workshop was a particular highlight working with Globe actors and brought further inspiration for our production later this year. [...]
