On the 14th of November 2024, 16 pupils of year 5 and 6 were chosen to be Peer Mentors. They had one day of training with a professional Peer Mentor from the charity Bucks Mind. The new Peer Mentors are: Lucy H, Lucy R, Alice G, Pixie, April, John, Ava, Ramir, Annabel, Maya S, Jasmine, Maggie, Katie, Emma, Josh, Joseph O and Oscar.
We learnt about our mental health and how to approach people if they are having problems. We can support students in break times and lunch times and are available to help someone if they have a problem or are feeling down. Chloe, who taught us about the role of peer mentoring, was very helpful, kind and supportive. It was a great experience to have and we had lots of fun.
We wear our yellow hi-vis jackets when we are on duty, so you'll know who we are! If you are feeling low, you can come up to us and ask us to have a chat about your feelings. Don't be shy because we are always here to help, and you will not be judged!
Thank you to Chloe for coming in and teaching us these helpful tips to help our community. Remember, always be kind!
