Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a day being historians and archaeologists exploring the Bronze Age at Buckinghamshire Museum Aylesbury, as part of the ‘Savage Stone Age’ topic.  The day was spent exploring the museum and enjoying a hands-on experience in a Bronze Age workshop.  As part of the museum was closed for refurbishment, we also had the opportunity to visit the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery too!

On the return to school John stated “My dream has come true as I saw a real mammoth tusk.”

A highlight for Austin was “Holding a real sword from the Bronze Age.”

The next day pupils investigated the Amesbury Archer burial, asking enquiry based questions about the grave goods, similar to ones seen at the museum.
