Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a fabulous day at Warwick Castle, as a culmination to their Castles topic.  The bright and sunny weather helped us to explore every corner of the Castle.  We loved climbing up onto the battlements, running under the portcullis, getting lost in the maze , eating lunch at banqueting tables and putting Mrs Chaplin in the stocks. Inside the castle, we saw the Great Hall with amazing suits of armour and weapons, the splendid bedrooms and amazing dining room with a beautiful ceiling. We explored the dark gaol and looked at all the artefacts in the Kingmaker exhibition. It was great to see examples of all the attack and defence methods we have been learning about, especially the huge trebuchet. A highlight of the day was the Bird of Prey show – we have never seen such huge eagles!
