Years 3 and 4 arrived looking splendid in their home made costumes. Well done all!

We have enjoyed a day packed full of exciting Roman related activities and learning. The day began by creating shields which were then painted in our chosen Roman Army colours. The Big Debate took place after break time, when we tried to persuade each other about who should succeed Saturn as the next Roman god. This formed the finale of two weeks’ work focussed on persuasive writing. Pluto was the next elected Roman god!

At the beginning of the afternoon, we marched around the playground to the beat of a drum; decided which calls to use to give the army clear instructions and used our shields to form the Roman tortoise as a whole army. Following this, we drew detailed sketches of The Colosseum to be used in future art lessons.
