Year 3 and Year 4 have enjoyed a trip to the River and Rowing Museum in Henley today. We went on a walk along the River Thames to see what has been done to protect the environment from erosion and flooding – there were even some houses built on stilts! Then we explored the gallery where we saw a Wind in the Willows exhibition, had a go on a rowing machine and learnt lots about the Thames and Henley. Some of us got to try on some fancy jackets and hats, similar to what was worn at the Regatta in the past. Before we came home, we had a go at some activities where we learnt about the permeability of rocks and told stories using objects relating to the river. It was a very busy day but we all had a great time!
