Our Amazing Science Oxford Adventure!

This term, our pupils had an incredible day at Science Oxford, exploring hands-on science and engineering activities that sparked curiosity and creativity!

We discovered the fascinating world of Rube Goldberg machines – just like the quirky contraptions in Wallace and Gromit! The children worked together to design and build their own chain-reaction machines, learning how forces and motion can create spectacular results.

Next, we explored wind power in exciting ways:

  • Wind tubes launched scarves and balls into the air – a brilliant way to see how air pressure works.
  • A wind-powered table showed us how renewable energy can move objects without touching them!

Our visit to the Planetarium was truly magical. We journeyed through space, learned about planets and stars, and discovered how science helps us understand the universe.

In the Exploration Zone, the children’s favourite part was experimenting with:

  • Building their own forces obstacle course.
  • Creating and testing electrical circuits to light bulbs and buzzers.

It was a day full of discovery, teamwork, and fun – inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers!
