As part of our Key Stage 1 topic, we are keen to teach the children about cultures and customs from another continent. We were thrilled when Mrs Mitchell kindly offered to teach the Year 1 and 2 children the art of African drumming, immersing themselves in an African art. They had their first lesson this week and every child was transfixed and fully engaged in the activity… so too were the teachers! The children will be having a few more sessions before the end of term and will be eager to showcase all that they have learned at the topic finale on Tuesday 17th July.
