Today we welcomed a visitor to both sites from the charity NSPCC. They led an assembly on the theme of ‘Speak Out Stay Safe.’ Children were encouraged to think about the worries that some of them may have , and how if they speak out and tell a trusted adult, they can get help to deal with any problems they may have, or if they don’t feel safe.

Children met Buddy the speech bubble mascot, who reminds pupils to speak out if they have a problem or worry.  They were also reminded about Childline, which they can phone free of charge at any time.

Year 5 and 6 engaged in a workshop in the afternoon, which allowed them to think in more detail about the issues of bullying and keeping themselves safe.
