A huge thank you to Mr Coats who came in on Thursday to give Year 3 and 4 a talk on his incredible expedition to Antarctica. In 2009, Ed joined Ben Fogle and James Cracknell on one of the most challenging expeditions of his life. His talk included how they raced 500 miles unsupported for 16 hours a day in temperatures as low as -50 degrees celsius, while pulling 80kg sleds behind them! What an inspiration – thank you Mr Coats. The children were fascinated and it was a fantastic start to our explorer topic.
