Year 3 and 4 have had a wonderful ‘New York’ day, working on their Stephen Wiltshire pencil drawings of the New York skyline, writing  recipes and then working in groups to create delicious bowls of coleslaw.  Lunchtime was a highlight of the day and the children tucked in with great enthusiasm to hotdogs followed by ice-cream sundaes. The bravest even added American mustard to their hotdog and enjoyed it!  After lunch, they entered into the ‘Skyscraper Challenge’, working together with spaghetti and marshmallows to try to create the tallest structure.  It all got very sticky, but the children were able to demonstrate and discuss why certain shapes are stronger than others.  It was a super day!
